Front suspension options

    Looking to see what you guys are using as a bolt on suspension. I am looking for manual steering with headers, loosing the towers and not really trying to drop it..

    The goal is to be able to actually drive the car once I am done lol. I have damage to the area where the upper controll arm bolts in on the right side. I bought it that way and I have driven on it the way it is. I just know it will not get any better. I had a bunch of stress cracks welded in the past also. So I figure I need to get rid of all that..

    Looks good. Do you have it or know who does? I am wondering how dificult it is to put in..

    Gene, it took me 15 hours total time and that was before I bought my plasma rig (I drilled out every single spot weld). Reconfiguring the base of the steering column and the linkage took longer than installing the suspension pieces. Buy the complete kit, I bought a scaled down version and ended up buying the other bits (at extra cost) anyways.

    I only see hints of it in your images. I don't see a shiney rack or red paint either..
    Wha is the "Unique Slide"?

    Looks like no radius arms/rods will be needed any more. So the hole is just there in the front crossmember..

    Thanks for the pics Russ. That looks like it will definetly take care of the issues the car has. I am dreading taking all that work I have done back apart. But it will be "fixed" finally and I won't be worried about it colapsing or something while I am driving it.
    I am considering hireing someone to do it for me.. Would like someone who has done it before.. :whistle:

    He says he lubed them and I think he said he added a zerk. I do know that poly bushings will come apart when you apply a petroleum product to it.. Maybe that is what he did..

    If you are going to deep six the towers, the RC kit is the nicest I've seen and I've been looking around. I assume when you say "bolt in" you don't mean the cross member................that just wouldn't be safe let alone probably never hold an alignment....................IMHO

    I don't believe that poly bushings should ever be used for the strut rod as they take a lot of multi-angle stress............and poly is not made for that kind of movement/stress. This is the reason that most people making a suspension upgrade to the Ford strut rod either don't use the strut rod or use heim joints.
    Although, Global West does sell a high durometer rubber that is a lot better than the original but not as "unforgiving" as Poly........................IMHO
