Met frank and his father today, pure car guys... I learned that the doors I had came with both early and late door handle locations.. who knew...lol... Plus they have the crash bar in them... I know the doors are going to a good home and I'm very pleased I could help ... Now get back to work Frank....

Great deal. I love to see people helping people just for the sake of doing it.

Now get to work Frank! (y)

    Thanks everyone.....

Went to Ocala today and picked up a pair of doors that were donated by mavgrab302(Ken, thanks again)..... They have some minor body damage but do not appear to be rusty, I will strip them and see what they look like......

Door damage/rust just seems to be a common occurance - my own 69.5 doors were shot so I picked up a nice set from Mavoholic (Dennis) and when stripping the paint off, I found hidden bondo in the replacement doors - I asked my painters (Jean & Dale Doll) as to what next? - Dale said "rip out all of the bondo" and bring them down - the bondo was there on one door from a past side swipe and the other door from a past metal repair but Dale got most all of the metal worked out and used very little filler to get the doors primo again - up here in the Northeast, it seems we just need to find the best that we can find that need the least amout of work :thumbs2:

Frank, been a while since I've checked your progress. I know I was'nt blessed with great patience, so I understand how frustrating this hobby can be sometimes. That being said, the job you've done so far is amazing! I just wanted to throw some encouragement your way, and say thanks for sharing the good and the aggrevating stuff (y) Merry Christmas

Went to the shop this morning and stripped the out side of the doors I got last week to see what they look like..... No rust in either door, looks like they are both useable..... The pass side has some bondo but not to bad, I am going to finish stripping this door and use it..... The drivers door has more bondo repair then the pass side, I am not going to use this one because it is really no better then the one I have been working on.....

Here's the pass side the way I got it(the bottom corners are a little bent up probably from moving them around).....

Here the pass side has been stripped.....

I'm glad they are in good hands... Once you work your magic, they will be better than new...

Those doors sure traveled around the country. They came with the gold Comet GT I purchased from a man in South Carolina. He had them shipped from Denver to South Carolina at a cost of $400 plus shipping. I brought them to Ocala, Florida with the car. The GT went on the back burner since I had the red GT to finish first. Ken wanted the gold GT, so I included them in the deal. He didn't use them and sold the GT to someone else with you getting the benefit. Such a deal, indeed!!! Hope they work out for you.

Took all the mechanism and latch assemblies out of the doors, then cut the crash bar out of the pass door..... I also got the front and bottom inside edge of the pass door.....

Here's what the pass door is looking like.....
