My son and i started the the body work project yesterday . we moved the maverick into the back pole barn and started to remove the chrome. I asked a question a couple of months ago about removing the chrome trim around the front windshield and the rear window and was and was told you needed a special tool to get it off. does any one know where i can get one?

Big, i wish i could remember how i took the front and rear trim off mine, i dont think i had anything really special as far as trim tools, needless to say, i am having someone i trust install it back once the paint is on.

How much body work are you guys planning on doing ? Are the bumpers staying or is a conversion in the works ? Can a big to small conversion be done on a 75 ?

I'd cut my sacks off befor i'd convert to a small bumper...LOL:rofl2:
We have to cut up the hood for a scoop i bought off of Craig S. (good guy to deal with) and im going to put a 69 mach rear spoiler. after that there is a few small hamer size dents in the hood. the rest is all sanding down some realy bad body work and it looks like it was painted at one of thoes $69.99 dolar specials i use to see on TV when i was a kid. then paint. but im planning to takeing all winter on it and paint in the spring.

Bozo's Grand Prize Game --- lol, getting back to your car though, on the scoop, 69 Machs also had Shaker scoops that look Really cool on Mavericks, just throwin it out there. And yes Craig is a good guy, little short on the memory, but he has given me some sound advice on body lines.

OMG How could I have forgotten about "the Bozo the clown show", with Bozo, Cookie, and ring master Ned.

I love the shaker scoops but I'm trying to make the car as close to the one i had in high school as i can. I had the Torieno style scoop on my old one. i found one very close to the old one.

I just looked at your gallery, man you need to post a few of those pics in this thread. I love the car ( we aint gonna see eye to eye on the bumpers though ), but it's a very VERY nice straight car. Anyways cant wait to see what it looks like in a year or so, you got a great canvas to start with thats for sure.

Just so you know I got my trim removal tool at AutoZone, it kind looks like a wide flat arrow with a handle on it, the points on the arrow are for slipping under the trim clip and pulling it out just enough to release the edge of the trim, hurry up and get started, can't wait to see what you are going to do with it, good looking car to start with.:thumbs2:
