they did my quarter tips so I don't see why it wouldn't work...just work them as to be painted and let them wrap them... the stuff they are using on my car is something new...3M...just came out with this, just to wrap cars...
I personally wouldn't want anything wrappedd on the outside of my car, but that brushed film would be cool on a dash.
im gonna try it on the back bumper fisrt being that it's straiter than my front one, there is just one hump in it i need to get out then i can do some body work to it and smooth it all out
just a friendly FYI for those who think this stuff will be better than sliced bread. Biggest downside is that it scratchs, hazes, and scuffs VERY easily. It's so bad that you can even scrub your fingertips over it and see the light scuffing created. I've also tried clearcoats of varying quality through the years and it eventually peels off since this stuffs so smooth and slick. I have to redo my work vans gfx every few years becuase of that tendency for dulling/scratching.
The new 3M 1080 is supposed to stronger to avoid the scratches, scuffs and other stuff............................but just remember..................it's not meant to replace the original stainless, chrome, or paint.....................and when you put it on uneven surfaces you will need to know what you are doing.....it looks easy..........but it's not..........and have a commercial heat gun handy.
yeah.. I know all that stuff by now. The thing to always remember with advertising is that they always spin it to better provoke us to open our wallets. lol regardless of the newer versions having scuff/scratch resistant layers added.. and just like scratch resistant glasses.. it's still vinyl and plastic we're talking about here and only so much can be done to it. My advice is to avoid touch type car washes.. car wash mitts.. and squeegees on this stuff. Which just about means that the only thing you can do to clean it and avoid hazing is to damp cloth it and blow on it to avoid spots/streaks! I'm obviously exaggerating slightly to be funny and dramatic.. but you get the point. It does look sharp as hell though! As with just about any surface.. brushed and matt finishes are much more forgiving of course.
but it's not their faults.. the corporations and their stockholders demand it or they can them and get someone else to do the dirty work. I still get pissed off when my Mickey D burgers look nothing like the picture board I order from!
