Man...I can hear crickets here :( LOL...what is everyone up to :hmmm: ? In my ongoing quest to dip into the 14's in the quarter mile I have isolated the trunk from the passenger compartment with some .050 aluminum sheet so I will be legal to run without the back seat...a saving of approx 40 lbs. I also installed a 5 inch alternator pulley. Gonna see what it will do this Saturday at Speedworld. I know the changes won't amount to much, but we're talking hundredths of a second to get there.

I know but driving on the freeway will be a PITA...it's a compromise unfortunately.

This one time...on Mythbusters...they added a rocket engine to the car...I didn't see the end though, so I'm not sure how much faster it went...

Ive been working around the house and on my daily driver Mustang. And busy with holidays of course. This week its back to normal and the daily grind though. Ill have to atleast fire up the Maverick this weekend to move it out of the way so I can put in my new garage door opener.

I took the car to Speedworld last weekend, but in protest right after I paid my entry fee my air pump froze up. Wasn't a good thing. Luckily I was able to gut it out and limp it home, but the look that the lady at the pay booth gave me when I started it was worth the entry fee! Oh well, I will try it again when the new pump and pulleys show up. I think that I was spinning it too fast and it prematurely failed.

Now thats some bad timing. Shame on you for taking it to the track and not letting anybody know you were going.

I was just looking to get it tech'd and to run some 60ft times. But like I said, it had other ideas. I got one of the pulleys today, but the other two will have to be made. I'm ordering material for them right now.

Well, see how far that got me? The front gate. At least it turned a boring day watching others race to a day working on the car. By the way, those pumps are filled with the blackest grossest lubricant available.

Well folks Speedworld needs our help again...

HELP, Please!! To all my facebook friends and family. We are in need of some help and a few minutes of your time. I know not all of you are drag racing or dirtbike fans, but you all have your favorite pass time be it a sport or hobby or place to go or things to do. Our favorite motorsports facility is in jeopardy of closing. I am asking all of you to please help and contact Arizona Governor Jan Brewer and let her know how important it is that we keep Speedworld open and in its current location. I think we can all relate to the importance of having a safe place to go and have fun. Especially for our kids. Speedworld offers many activities for individuals and families. There is the motocross park, an NHRA 1/4 mile drag strip, FMX ramps, Lucas Oil off-road truck track, sand drags and mud bogs, BMX, remote controlled car track as well as a remote controlled airplane field. You can contact the Governor here on facebook, by mail or email. Please help us! And thank you!

I like racing and all but I wouldnt be too upset if Firebird and Speedworld Both closed. Maybe it would motivate somebody to build a new facility. Paved pits would be nice, boards at the end of the track that you can actually read the times on, better lighting, etc.
