Does anyone have somewhat of a step by step to remove the yellow box underthe dash and the small metal square thing in the engine bay.. It's ugly as hell and I want it gone... I got the dash out of it right now so I doubt there would be any better time to do this. I searched and didn't find much on the removal of it.. Anyone done it before that can remember how?
To remove the yellow box disconnect the harness plug and remove the screws holding it to the dash. To remove the over-ride switch un-screw it from the inner fender and disconnect the wiring harness. To by-pass the switch cut the Red/Lt. Blue wire and White/Pink at the connector and tie these wires to each other.
Sweet, that's the last bit of junk I need to remove as well. I know what I'm doing later tonight as well.
1974 cars only - they had a seat belt interlock that would not let a car start if someone was sitting on the seats without the seatbelt buckled. It was a total PITA cause even if you set a bag of groceries on the seat, it was enough weight to prevent the ignition from working. You would have to connect the belts to get it to start. So hated, it was only in use 1 year ............
