    Same thing happened to me the first time. I entered via the "here" link.

    I went back to this thread and clicked on the "register" link and it brought my username and everything over to the new site. I even re-used my password. Before, it wouldn't even allow the space between my first and last name.

    The new forum software has a theme editor built in, but I have not tried it yet.I will also explore 3rd party themes, but this is something I will do later down the line.

    IPB theme editor has always been quite robust and quite a bit of fun to play with. I would not explore 3rd party themes too much though, I've seen them hiding viruses inside them more times than I care to recall.

    I find the new software is a lot less flexible. To overcome this, I need to edit files, which makes upgrading harder or come up with workarounds.

    I feel pretty lucky, I've done admin duties on a few IPB forums, but I never had to switch from one forum software to another. The only forum I was on that switched went the other way, and that was fairly easy because we didn't carry over any design elements. I can imagine the amount of work required to do so, I wouldn't willingly take it on, not my kind of puzzle.
