I don't think anyone here can really tell you what color is best for you.. and only you can make that choice since you're the one who will have to live with it in the longterm. Maybe just look through the pic archives and see what you like the most? And not to be a smartass or anything.. but what is "brite dark"?
I've had people ask for a bright dark before when doing sign designs. Usually they mean a dark color that isn't flat. Like a dark with a luster to it. or... flat vs semi-gloss. Ya know like a flat, flat no coating black can be a very dark dark black, and then you put some satin coat black next to it, suddenly it's like there is 2 different colours there.
hmmm?.. not really sure if that's what he meant there. I'm thinking most would automatically assume that an exterior automotive finish would already be full-gloss to begin with. Curious what his reply will be on the question now.
The under-coat can be just as important as the over-coat in how it looks in the end. I used to have a print of a Kershaw knife laminated onto my desk at my dad's print shop. Quite often people would try and pick it up before realizing it was a 2D print on paper. That 1 single picture taught me worlds about layering gradients and coating for the utmost effect. There are darks that seem like they could devour light, and then there are darks that seem like they radiate light, and it has almost nothing to do with the coat.
Why not two tone the car with the white above the blue? (Or blue above white.) I had a 2001 F150 that was all white from the factory. We had everything above the character line just below the windows painted Zinc Yellow and it totally changed the character of the truck. Bruce
I presume your interior color is blue. That will limit what you can do on the outside to some extent.
The bright dark blue reffers to the metal flake changing the color in the sun light. At night the blue is dark, but in direct sun light it is bright. Factory color code 3G ford/ Mercury
Well, I think the Ted Nugent look is off limits. Unless I work for a zoo. Strips are out. But , white is cheap. The inside of the car is black. Thank you all.
