Well we started sanding the rear Q panels, and the passenger side we found loose body filler behind the read wheel. With the price i'm paying for paint i don't want to re fill it in and have it come loose again in a few years. Does any one know where in can get patch panels from? I don't want to redo the hole Q panel, its only about 4 inches in the corner that need replacing. Also, me and my curiosity got me in trouble LOL. we removed the trunk lid to work on it, I was looking at how the spring worked (mainly why one was up and one was down) so i pushed down on the up one to see if i could get it out of the way and BANG now its down and wont move. anyone know what i did and how to undo it.
Nobody makes a quarter panel patch panel....yet. I think someday it will be made...but who knows when. A good body man can weld you in something and make it look really good. It is not a complicated piece to make. Sounds like your trunk spring has popped loose. It can be easily fixed...just don't know how to tell you to do it. It just pops back into place.
Up date photos. We decided to leave the chrome that runs down the side off. I guy i work with is going to weld up the holes next weekend. Question, how do you remove the lower piece of chrome on the Quarter window?
I assume that you are talking about that horizontal strip of chrome that lays at the base of the quarter window on top on the quarter panel. Remove your inner plastic rear seat panel and you will see studs with nuts on them holding it in. The boomerangs behind that strip are fastened the same way
The welding is finished A friend from work came out to day a welded up all the small holes and the patch for the rear Q-panel I'm very happy with the results.
we removed the windshield today, i was suprised how easely it came out, does anyone know what is the best sealer to use to replace as my son call'ed it the "satanic snot" that sealed the windshield
