Has anyone tried this? I might try to get some for any long cruises this summer. and it looks to hold-up pretty good after the thrashing these two guys gave it.
never seen that particular product before.. but they do make it in clear(or is that stuff clear after removing the black film?) and dealers have been using it for years now. I have some "rich friends".. who take their Audi's and Merc's to the dealers to have it done and they pay big bucks for the service. The plastic films are even better. SEM makes the clears too and I'd recommend getting the pro versions over that stuff.
I use the wheel stuff they make, on the chrome wheels on my F150, and it seems to work. I don't know if I'd use some stuff that sprays on the paint...kinda looks like Plasti-kote..
I think I'll pass. Seems like you would spend more time applying and removing than you would cleaning bugs.
these types of coatings can do far more than reduce road grime and bug guts.. they actually reduce chips and light pitting quite a bit even compared to an ultra-high quality urethanes durability/chip resistance. The max benefit probably depends on how much you drive and/or like to tailgate though, I guess. The better clear chip guard coatings have a slight satin/semi-gloss appearance and can't really be seen until you get up close. Worth every penny if you really like to put miles on really expensive paint jobs though.
That would be great here for the love bug season..... The front of my 03 tundra is trashed because of these pests....
