Autocross, is the new Drag Racing....as much as some people won't agree.

I always thought Goodguys had a cut off year for cars that were allowed? maybe that's changed..

72 and older at most events. They do make exceptions for cars LOOKING like a 72 or older. Therefore a small bumper conversion Mav will be allowed.

    Added a stripe.

In getting ready for Goodguys this year, I sent the car to my body guy for a little cosmetic work on the hood. A couple year ago, I had a chunk of wood fall out of the bed of the trunk in front of me going down the hwy put a dent in the front lip of the hood. I needed that fixed as well as the cowl area where I cut out the vents and tried my best to weld in some patch panels. I've been running around with a mag strip on it for years now and finally its fixed. While it was there I decided to add a stripe to the hood. I've always liked the blackout strip Charlie Ping has on his so this was my inspiration. Im not sure I totally like it yet but if I never really warm up to it, I'll just have it redone as all blue.

If you're at GoodGuys this weekend come see me. I'll be at the far end doing the autocross.

    This is Charlies car:

your car just keeps getting better...cant wait to see whats next..

ever think about painting a stripe or something on the side...maybe a gunmetal stripe to match the wheels? i think that would really set the car off. just wetsand, paint stripe and re-clear the whole car. jmo

Here's an idea I've been playing with. Kind of a comet GT stripe and rocker panel treatment.

Hi Chris. Just be aware of the front to rear body line drop that flows from the top of the front fender down to about centerline of the door handle. This will prevent you from going straight back and crossing that upper body line as that pic shows. I've seen quite a few make that same mistake before and it ain't necessarily pretty when it's all said and done.

If you want?.. I'd be happy to do a quick render or two.. just to pay you back for the time and effort spent on getting our swaybar order in and saving me some cash on the deal.

Pretty busy lately.. so it won't be a rush job.. but I do decent enough work for a non-pro since I've done it for over 10 years now to build my business's logo, van gfx, website, etc.. so I know my way around the software by now.

You scratch'a my back.. me scratch'a your back. PM me a hi-res side shot for best results. ;)

I see your point. When I drew that up, I didnt realize the body line went back that far and low. It looks like it ends on the bottom side of the door handle. Therefore, my stipr as pictured above would not work.

For the rendering, I wouldnt mind seeing what you can come up with. I've done some drawings myself but never gone as far as to get some real software and do something that looks decent.
