Thanks! I thought the stars/asterix may have been the way they separated series (Comet/Maverick) as they were both being built in Kansas. It would have been nice if they included the body and engine code in the apron VINs so we knew.
I've seen a double stamped Mustang, but never a Maverick.... Just follow the directions with the POR 15, and it amazing stuff!
Engine and Transmission are out! Well, I got the engine out and my best friend came over to lend me a hand. He brought his torches with him, so we were able to get the exhaust manifold off without breaking anything.
Deeper and deeper... Well, I have been slowly removing more and more pieces of the car. I may not be driving this year if I don't get my butt in gear and start putting things back together. I am just about ready to start drilling spot welds, but I have to make the hour and a half trip to Princess Auto to get a bunch of cutters.
paint....paint.......paint......paint.......paint I was whispering that above. It will never be any easier than it is right now.
Next, you'll be saying something crazy like "put a V8 in it". money.....money.....money.....money.....money I am whispering that.
So, you don't want me to tell you, the Princess is only 10 minutes from my house? and there 3 Tim Hortons on the way. Enjoy the disassembly!
Instead of doing anything in the garage tonight, I decided to have fun with my kids. They have both been enjoying Transformer Toys lately. My 3 year-old son's favourite character is Bumble Bee, so I figured since I have a yellow and black-striped car sitting in the garage, I decided to sketch this up for fun. If I don't get the car back together, I could always hang the parts in a tree and set up a Bumble Bee exhibit in the front yard for Halloween.
