seat belt question...

    so, are all the seat belts the same from your to year? I am looking to replace the ones in my 76, with ones out of a 72...will this work?

    Why are you looking to swap? Seems like you are going backwards to me.

    I spent a few hours cutting out a set of inside sill retractable seatbelts from a '74 two door which I plan to transplant into my '71 that came with the horrendous non-retractable ones.

    It is going to be a bit of work, but they are a hell of a lot safer that what I have now.

    39 year old seatbelts don't sound safe to me. Ten years is the life expectancy of seatbelts. I replaced all of my seatbelts with new webbing and hardware for less than $110.

    1972 Maverick Grabber - Color: Orange Also, 1976 Ford Maverick 4-door, 1977 Mercury Comet 2-door.

    There are at least (5) different versions of seat belts used in Mavericks/Comets. They do not mix and match with each other.

    Your 1976 has the seat belt "reels" recessed inside the rocker panels. I would keep that set-up, especially if we are talking about that rare Stallion.
