it would look a lot better with...a headliner and back window installed... I like the way you colored in the white background for the color contrast...
Yea, I know. The weather postponed my upholsterer's appointment until next week. No hurry since, as you can see, cruising weather is a ways off this year.
Awesome car. I had a '69 GT formal roof once. I like them better than the fastbacks in 68-69 myself, fastback looks too heavy out back.
Did a a little under hood work this weekend. Removed the stock 351w 4v cast iron intake and 4300 Autolite carb. Installed C9OX Ford Muscle Parts aluminum intake, 600 cfm Ford Holley, a pair of original 428 SCJ aluminum valve covers, and an original '69 Ram Air set-up. (waiting on a reproduction seal on back order)
The 69 is my favorite Fairlane. Vry nice car --- Wish it were mine. A 69 w/ fac AC that was kind of rare?
I added the A/C last fall. It was a lot of work, as it meant replacing the entire lower dash and of course the heater/evaporator case. I opted for the Sanden compressor for its lighter, smaller package. Other than that, everything else is factory Ford stuff.
Did u do all the mechanical work for the install? I did my Comet 2011 but it came w/ fac air; I thought that was a lot of wrk. Heat case was in pretty gud shape -- just some minor repairs. It looks like u got a fac looking condenser? I wish I had got that type. Anyway, hoping to make the Gathering and meet some of the folks in that group -- don't want to get off topic to far... Got any pic of the interior? What did u install for heat/ac case? Did any of those cars have fac AC in 69?
I did all the work except charging the system. A/C was an option in '69 and I bought all the components (including the heater case) from a '69 Fairlane, from another Fairlane Club member, then refurbished everything. I also added a factory 4-speaker AM/FM stereo at the same time. Looking forwrd to meeting you in July.:Handshake
