rattle can engine bay

    I had some spray paint left over so I decided to see how it would look if I sprayed my engine bay didn't turn out so good glad I just did a test spray....maybe I'm using the wrong paint. ..like always any suggestions and advice would be nice. Also I used krylon semi gloss i bought it like 5 months ago maybe its bad

    Looks like it needed a bit of sanding first, I did my engine bay with rattle cans, Krylon lacquer in black, looks good to me, but I cleaned and sanded alot first.

    It's all in the prep, scotch rite pads, and some sorta pre cleaner .

    I got spray paint that is 5-7 years or older and they still paint fine. I never heard of spray paint going bad

    maybe maybe not, i got a new can i bought and no matter how long u shake the can the paint comes out like blk water...

    Try some prep and a different can.. I have seen some amazing turnouts using spray cans.

    1972 Maverick 2 door.Original V-8 3 spd std shift.Also a 72 one owner Sprint sporting a 351 Windsor
    Couple rags...Brake clean and some sandpaper/primer and rattle can paint gets you this. Took about 6 hrs of prep the get this result. Really cheap paint will not get you good results either unless you are super patient with it. I used duplicolor paints for the Sprint. I actually pressure washed the eng comp before this before pic was taken...It was pretty ugly.
