I need to replace my Perma-Cool electric fan with a another one but I'm on the fence as to which one(s) to get, I think it's just getting old... I know the Taurus fan conversion is popular on here but I don't know what the cfm is on those. I'm kinda debating between the zirgo ZFU16S (3650 cfm, $213.75) or their ZFB16S (3000 cfm, $119.23) but with that cost difference for only 650 more cfm I might just get two ZFB's...

I've heard that the 90's Ford Taurus fans work well and you should be able to find one easy and cheap.

And they'll about suck the paint off your grille...

I got one around here and it'll move more air than any aftermarket I've seen...

its usually one or the other. some times people will add an electric fan to the front of the radiator. the problem is that electric fan becomes a restriction at freeway speeds if its in front.

I have a Taurus fan. It is really close to the water pump pulley. I have a March pulley system, so i cant say for sure it will fit the stock system. But the early (around 1994) Volvo's also have the same fan motor, but a thinner shroud. Also get the Volvo relay that goes with the fan. It makes things a lot simpler to hook up. The fan should have 3 wires coming from the motor for the 2 speed fans.

I have the Taurus (or Mark 8?) fan. Anyhow, I've experimented with a ton of fans over the years and have yet to find one that blows this hard. I have mine set up to be able to run either speed, but have never had a reason to use the high speed. The 4 1/2" may scare you at first, but the housing can be cut down to move it closer to the radiator. I don't know if that would hurt the flow, but I have seen where people have done this. Also I had the stock pulleys when I first put this on with an aftermarket radiator (read that as not the stock thickness) and it fit. But you do have to get it aligned right to miss the water pump.
