these were factory produced mustang 2's. i have been checking those out from r&c i like all the options they have. i have been looking at the kit from helix as well, anyone have anything to say about those kits? thanks for the pic. also have another question, where can i get/and what are those things called that tie the steering column to the new gear box on the rack?
Do some research on the Helix kits, from what I have heard, some are offshore(china) made kits that I wouldn't put a lot of faith in. The MII kits that use high quality parts are more expensive but used reliably in thousands of streetrods across the country in various forms. The intermediate shaft is available from several sources including those that sell the kits. Flaming River comes to mind for custom or universal designs. Bryant mentioned Joe Dirt's conversion. I believe he used Mustang towers(which are Fox platform as well) and modified AJE components to utilize the Mustang style struts with coil over conversions. I would check out his articles/threads for more detailed info. He has tried several different approaches to engine/suspension setups over the years.

Good deal! I looked through his stuff, I will check again. Thanks. Rabidcustoms, I did a bunch of measurements. It’s the way the k member is set up and shaped. If I Z the frame rails to fit the k member, it will push the motor mounts up in turn allowing the motor to stick up. It’s probably not exactly 18’’ but never the less will stick out. I hope that explains it I’m not the most descriptive person lol. Anyone know if all the maverick frames are the same with? I broke down and called full tilt customs about the m2 kit, he said he knows the one they have will fit 70-72 but not sure on a 75.
The charts I got say they are a big difference between 70-73 and the 75...(30.81" vs 26.52"). Don't know if this is a typo or fact. Also says the 76-77 has a different length than the 75...(2-door- 120.0" vs 120.60") I don't have a 74 frame chart.

Thank you rthomas771! i will call them back. i got the tape out last night and from what i can tell it looks like it's 32 3/4 from bottom to bottom outside and 26 1/2 inside to inside frame.
I wonder if that's right? And.. if it is?.. wouldn't all the engine swap guys be hunting down the later models for better engine/header clearance?
I came to the conclusion years ago that 9 times out of 10...a part off a red Ford won't fit a blue Ford although they are the same year and model. Look at all the other changes we see on our cars. Different side glass and regulator mounting holes, different throttle cable mounts/ends, different turn signal switch's, different rear end housing lengths, different headlight buckets/bezels, different heater control covers, different shock towers, different webbing enforcement under the hood...ect. The list is long as you leg...and you're asking me if this is right? But seriously, I'm guessing the location of the holes in the frame where they're taking the measurements could be different year to year but I don't know.
Our cars were made of leftover parts L that’s why they were five bucks short of two grand new in 1970 lol.
