So the shipping was EXTREMELY FAST, which is great but the paperwork says 1969, I ordered for a 1972 (I got mustang floor pans but it will settle and mold to it, I hope) I called them and they told me there carpets for 69-77 are the same, has anyone ordered one and the paperwork said 1969? I just don't want it to have the smaller trans tunnel mold..and shouldnt '74 have a diff carpet as well? sitting here on my floor it looks like a small tunnel and my car is an absolute dust mess at the moment so I don't want to drag it out there... Hopefully someone has come across this because I sti have sandin to do and don't really want to clean up right now, thanks!

If they are saying their one carpet is for all '69-'77's they're wrong or they don't have carpets molded to fit. '74-'77 should be very different than early ones due to the catalytic hump. I ordered for a '76 and got the 74-77 ACC one.

I would bet my first born that ALL the ACC Maverick carpets are the same. I really feel you will not have a problem with it.

Are you saying there is no difference between the ACC carpets of any year? Even though they have a listing for early and late (74-77) carpets?

When I talked to her she also said.. Well it's not a carpet for a '68 maverick so it should fit.. And I like I said, umm there ain't no such thing as a 1968 maverick. Unless I'm mistaken and the 69.5's were built in 68 for some odd reason?.. She seemed well, useless. So once I'm done blocking te shell today I guess I'll have to do some serious cleanup and throw it in.

Just seen that Craig posted.. You just made my day by saying that! I was getting quite depressed looking at it, just looks so small sitting there and I don't need any more hold-ups in this project because I can finially see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I have a 69.5, and carpets are a constant source of aggravation. I order a carpet set, two piece, and the back seat piece fits perfect, the front, not so much. I have the smaller tunnel, and the carpet is way too big around the tunnel and doesn't fit at all. I had to have it split and resewn to sit down on the tunnel, and then it was about an inch short on the right front corner, under the kick panel. But, it is not noticeable if you paint the floor to match the carpet (black). Be carefull when you order, and ask about the smaller tunnel. Seems after all this time, one of these folks would make a carpet that fits, or so we would wish. Good luck!

I think mine certainly "appears" to have a molded hump in it...but I can push it flat so that it might fit in a early floor (pop it in the other way). Unless I tried it on an early floor I don't know if it would look bunched up or not. The under-pads are the same size on both sides. Maybe the only difference is the "hump years" are "pushed out" in the mold and the early ones are "pushed in" in the mold. Mine came "popped" out on the cat side like in this photo. Otherwise I don't know why they (ACC) would have different models.

I would agree with the "popped in/popped out" theory.

I've had conversations with numerous carpet sellers that advertised that they had molded carpets to fit a 69.5 Maverick until I explained the smaller tunnel. I always had them "looking into it", sometimes for a week or two, and you had to keep after them for an answer. When it came right down to it no one would admit that their carpets were any different for the early Maverick. I changed my tunnel over to a later model tunnel anyway so I just avoided the 69 fit problem and just ordered one for a 72. Since I ordered mine with the plusher cut pile option, my ACC box notes 1977 on the box since the cut pile was available in the later Maverick years. :)

I have always heard you just need to pad the small tunnel

That seems to be the answer for the 69.5 :thumbs2:
