So, in life I have found that there are certain questions that have to be answered, MUST be answered.... This, is one of those questions... What is this little clippy thingy suppose to be and or do?????
I was thinking some type of noise (wind) cancelation or for a sales flag holder (when new) or maybe an assembly line remnant????
It's called " window guide" In the NPD catalog. Helps guide the window when the car is at highway speed.
They sure do! I would like to take mine off but haven't figured out how. I roll my windows up just far enough not to touch it as it is starting to scratch the glass!
Who would 'a' thunk! I'll have to try it on the way home tonight. Thanks! For the life of me I couldn't figure out what they did!
What's really annoying is that if it gets rusty enough it stops guiding the window into the channel at highway speeds. Another item near the bottom of my list of crap to fix on my car some day. However if you put a little moleskin on it, it works just fine again.
Yep, so on the way home I had to test this thing out LOL! So rolling the window up and down (about 20 times) I noticed right away the leading edge of the window touches the guide first, makes perfect since now that somebody else explained it!!!!!
When I was putting my 73 Comet back together I could not find any so I sanded mine down and then dipped it with some rubber coating. It turned out pretty good. I can tell you from experience that if you take them out and try to roll up the window going down the road you will have problems.
