Got the front end aligned this morning, rides much much better. New exhaust and sub frame connectors welded in on Monday. Then its ready for Carlisle with 2 weeks to spare!

Just left the exhaust shop getting the bung installed for an O2 sensor. Got a chance to take some pictures of underneath my car. It was as I feared I've got some welding work in my future, but the good news is the floor pans are solid! Toque boxes have some rust holes from the cowl leaks, so I guess that sucks a lot.

Gonna grab lunch and go buy some new tires for the rear.

If anyone in the Portland area needs exhaust work I highly recommend Master Muffler on N Lombard and Wall out in St. Johns area. These guys did fantastic work. I took it to 3 other muffler shops before them and none of them wanted to work on my car because of the rusted bolts on the manifold. These guys did me a full custom bent exhaust all the way out the back with some magnaflow mufflers for $425. And they cleaned up the manifold connections very nice. It's a shame the exhaust is under the car, it looks amazing. Sounds real good too.

Drove it today, like I do everyday.

Did take it on a 284 mile round trip out to Pull-A-Part in Augusta, GA earlier this week. About 235 of that was on the I-20 doing 70..

Somehow managed to make the trip on 8 gallons of gas, which is the best fuel economy I've ever gotten with this car. It's still hard for even me to believe, but I filled up the tank right when I left home, drove there and back, then stopped at the same station on my way to work to top off, and it took 8 gallons to fill it back up... I wasn't running the car hard in any way, but I wasn't making a huge effort to get economy out of it either.. I previously thought the economy was the best at 65 mph, but now beginning to wonder if the motor needs a bit more RPM to eek out the maximum efficiency. 2.79 rear with overdrive, it don't turn a lot of RPM.. but the cam in 1980 200 is all about low end torque.

    Steamed it

Cleaned under the hood with some Bull Head Red Cleaner. Purple Power and Mean Green has nothing on this stuff.
