Got my sub frame connectors installed and my driver side door is hard to open. Is the striker on the jamb adjustable or do I have to adjust the hinges to fix it?
Yes, the striker is adjustable. If you were not so far away, I would tell you to bring it over and we would adjust it.
I appreciate Craig. You're not TOO far away, but its a long drive for a quick fix. Looks like I might need to add a shim or two. Gonna be a bugger getting the screws broke loose.
OH gosh.....let's not go there again. I could bring the RIGHT TOOL with me to Carlisle and we could fix it there.
I might take you upon that Craig. Things like this bug me and it will drive me nuts, so I will give it a shot in the next couple days and let you know.
The muffler shop installed them. I dont know what its called but the car was lifted by its wheels not the frame. Russ told me that sometimes things sag over time and I might have to use a jack to push them up into place. Thing is, I have no top, so when you jack up the connectors it caused the car to bow outwards. I think thats what they did. It sits level and rides great, so I will readjust the door and fender gaps.
I'm tempted to offer you a mini-vacation, my doors fit like cr@p. They were perfect before my bud stripped and painted the car. Now you have to slam them and there's a ridiculous gap at the bottom...
I got it Craig! Lowes sells a screwdriver with a nut like the one you have. Its a 3 instead of a 4 so I ground the tip down to get it in deeper. Worked real well I took a striker off one of the junk cars, mine was getting loose with age. Big improvement and door closes properly again. Thanks for all the help. :Handshake
