Got the Upper control arms and springs mounted. Everything is in place now I just need to pick up some new shocks and install the road race belly bar.

Drove the Comet around.. I cut half a coil on each spring, put new upper control arms with roller perches and did a 1" Shelby drop. The stance is much nicer and the handling has been improved quite a bit! Now for new tires...

Got my Quick Fuel HR 580 carb overhauled by QF under warranty. I installed it today, and it runs really well. Seems to have good acceleration, smooth power transition from cruise to WOT, and the gas mileage seems better, but will have to see after some more tuning. I replaced a Holley 570 Avenger, and I think I will let it cook a while after tuning to see which I like better. Right now, the QF seems to be better. We shall see!

Removed the bottom leaf of my hd four leaf springs on the drivers side, hoping to get rid of the bone jarring ride. I've been tolerating this long nuff.
I've had it in mind almost since the day they were installed.
Im also installing new shocks, replaced axle vent hose and cleaning/painting the axle housing as best I can w/ it in the car.
Im having trouble gettin the spring pin to lineup/go back into the axle housing hole. Im hoping it cuz I had the car up on only the drivers side; pass side resting on the ground. Tommorrow hoping to move the car off the wall, jack up both sides, repeat the procedure as on the drivers side.
Hopefully, I will be able to get the pins to go back in the axle. If not, I got plenty of car repair shops in my area.

Took the Comet out after the install of the HD Belly Bar and kinda pushed it in the corners. WOW talk about cornering! Not only is the handling a million times better, but the car feels so much more safe and stable. I would recommend these mods to anyone.

Had an issue with my Quick Fuel carb today, in that I needed to put the solenoid for the A/C back on, and didn't have a bracket for the plunger to push on to speed up the idle. I made one out of some scrap aluminum and got it mounted on the carb. Seems to work real well.

BKelley came over this morning and we went junkyarding. When we got back to my house we replaced my Deluxe gas cap with a nos Locking gas cap on my Maverick then we cleaned up a used rear defroster. I hope to install the defroster tomorrow after I bead blast BKelley's metal rear shelve trim. The locking gas cap made a BIG difference in the looks of my Mav.

Today I totally gutted the comet! Took all day. I learned a lot, Like never get that black sticky window sealant on your body ( ouch!). I can save a lot but there is also a lot of bad. That's why I have three cars :) Soon there will only be two.
