Here's a GoPro vid of my first pass of this year on the new combo. Not quite as violent a leave as before, but more predictable. First pass was a 6.68 @ 101 in the eighth. There's actually another vid of my car at the Sportsnationals Open in Bowling Green on Memorial Day weekend, and we only got one pass, so I dialed it up, and tried to drive the stripe...TRIED being the operative word lol. I was .006 to my opponents .047 on the tree...I killed 8 numbers, and nearly 10 mph, and lost sight of the finish line. By the time I relocated it, and realized what I had done...I was .007 too late. Oh well...it was some seat time lol.

Hi J...yes, pretty much the same combo...I did lower compression a touch, but otherwise the same. I did get an 8-point welded in. Will be removing the windshield and dash in the future to turn it into a full cage. I want my front down bars to ghost behind the windshield pillars, and you can't really get them hidden without removing the dash, which means also removing the windshield. I plan to also get the headliner put back in at the same time. Then I'll work on the body lol...

I'm not sure about Iowa yet...if I go, it will probably be pretty much a last minute thing depending on work. Hoping to make it though. If I do, we'll definitely find a track somewhere lol. Funny thing is since last fall and spring, I've been all over the area around Somerset to some Outlaw Street Car races driving a friends Mustang...go figure.

Hey Tom, How come you gave up at 1/2 track?:rofl2:

Seriously, looks good. Nice leave, smooth. Should be more consistent. (y)

LOL...because there were so many cars the NHRA said no 1/4 passes for the ET classes. It was the most cars I've seen at the Sportsnationals Open in years! There were over 100 cars in S/SS alone. There probably 60-70 cars just in my Pro/No Electronics class! It was a great turnout, and a great day at the track. I definitely had better results at my local track the night before though lol...

Combo is 347 stroker. Man O War block, AFR 185 heads, Comp solid roller cam, 11:1 compression, running E85. Best 60 ft has been 1.42. C-4 with full manual reverse valve body and FTI 5500 stall. 9" narrowed to stock maverick dimensions with Moser 33 spline axles and spool, turning 3.89 gears. I only shift it at 6200 and it's like driving down the highway to the track. I'm running homemade cal-tracs and autozone shocks lol...the 60's speak to the effectiveness of them. The car looks like it might run 9's in the eighth mile lol. After I run, I usually have folks coming over to ask about the car, even at my local track. They all say "that thing is FAST!" And I have to tell them that it's really not that fast...it's just faster than it LOOKS like it should be ;)
