I am finished with my design and fabrication of a spring loaded hinge for my Maverick. It works great!! :bananaman
Awesome indeed, I think you could weld a "stop" on it so it wouldn't go as high... I hate the prop rod so this is super cool.
I just put it up that high to show how high it could go so you can work under the hood easily, you can open it as high or low as you want. Check out all the pictures and you can see the different levels.
Those look great! And I bet they didn't even cost $1200 like the ones in Topolino's thread from Brazil. (I guess unless you add up the labor).
It probably did cost $1200 in labor to make them since they are the prototype set. A lot of trial and error trying to get the right geometry so I had to weld, cut, and grind multiple times until I got it right and then I had to smooth it out to make it look factory. I am going to make another set for my other Maverick and write a tech article with some pictures. It will be a lot easier since I know what to do now.
