Today's Muscle Car show had a piece where they went to the dragstrip for a Ford show and there was a blue 1975 Maverick with a 351W that they showed and talked about. It was pretty cool! (y)

Hey Gene, I saw that one. The father owned the Maverick and his daughter had the Mustang..............very cool!

I thought it was the other way around. She wanted to get into drag racing so he found the maverick for her.

You could be right...............I spent too much time looking at the Maverick and his tow truck...................but she did spank him in the Maverick........................didn't it turn in mid to low 12's?

I do believe the daughter had the Maverick...she won the race against her dad's pickup but she only ran a 15.60...seems like it would have been quicker than that.

Guess I was wrong on all counts...............it was the Mustang that was in the 12's....................and yes, I agree the 351w Maverick should have done a little better..............but street cars do not always make good drag cars...........IMHO

I wonder where it was. A 15.60 at sea level is weak, but at the altitude where I live, it's pretty darn decent (the equivalent of a 14.7).
