Who's running a Mustang driveshaft?

    I'm about to install a driveshaft from a '97 Mustang. Length looks perfect. I suspect the Mustang yoke will fit the C4 (am I right?) but I'm pretty sure I'll need a bastard U-joint for the rear unless I happen to be able to swap the end caps with my current one. Probably not. So, what u-joint(s) are you guys using to accomplish this?

    What's the advantage of a '97 Mustang driveshaft?

    Stock drive shaft is a weenie, anyways.

    I have eaten chicken wings stronger than our stock drive shafts.

    I've ran a small stock drive shaft on my car as long as I've had it. from my 6 cyl to the 347 and now the LSX...Detroit locker w/traction control and slicks a few times at the track...:yup:
    C-4...full race C-4...AOD...Full race AOD w/trans brake...Gear Vender overdrive...and now a 700R4 OD.
    275x60x15s...:chirp:

    the only drive shaft I've had a problem with was an unknown aluminum one I tried. I hammered it twice in the street, both times I tore the rear yoke off...:cry:
    only good thing...I was close enough to my house that I coasted back into my shop both times...:yup:

    That's all I've run for the last 10 years on my car. Does only drag strip duty and runs high 11's. Never had a problem. :yup:

    The bigger the diameter of the shaft gives it more high rpm stability. Mark Williams has some really good tech info on drive shafts on their site

    I'm running a 2004 Stang shaft. I bought it new off a company on ebay that had a pile of left overs from production. The length is the same as the Comet/Mav shafts (2dr). Didn't need a combo joint with the 9" rear. The slip yoke may or may not fit, depending on the transmission it's meant for. The 4R70W uses a larger diameter 28 spline (outer diameter, not the spline itself) It's kinda like a 31 spline outer diameter with a 28 spline inner.

    It's not that the driveshaft is weak. Your car just has too much power. :D

    Are we not supposed to jack it up by the driveshaft? Seems like a nice solid, centrally located place to put the jack.
