Got the LDO molding holes welded up. Here's what the back side looks like after using a nail to help fill the hole. Less heat...less chance of burn thru. I just had to zip off the stakes on the back and grind them down a little.

    13 holes filled. Now it's a Maverick fender! :rofl2:

Next step notch for small bumper since this is a 75 fender.

I've shot the Eastwood Inner Frame Protector in the inner fender reinforcement (the dirt catcher) and painted the back of the welds. Undercoat next. Trying to measure the fender notch but that ain't working very well. Gonna have to make a template off the old fender.

Got the 3M Strip Caulk layed on the apron. I hope to get this fender on today.

Got the fender notched. That was a job. I hope it's right...it looks right with the template I cut off of the old fender. I made this to help flange the radius on the notch.

I started the bends with vise grips and then hammered them around. I welded to top flange to the reinforcement underneath for strength.

Undercoat drying. Maybe I'll get it on today.

Frt sheet metal on. Fit is pretty good. Doesn't need much tweaking.

Someone put moldings on my grabber at one time I had to weld holes from the head lights to the tail lights, both sides (yikes that was stressful)...

Someone put Caliente trim on my Cyclone. I dread when the time comes to fill those. Probably 35 holes per side.

Since I'm not going to use the Comet GT scoop in this hood, I dug out the old 70 valance and spoiler I had. Valance needs a few holes welded up and the spoiler needs fiberglass work but I'm gonna see what I think about them on the car.

Waiting on some paint to dry on a few small items and remembered I had a new set of sealed beams that I'm not going to be using on the Mustang. So in they go.

I also noticed the antenna grommet is not staying in the hole. This antenna is off my 75 Comet. It appears the grommet is too small. I'm having to pull the fender off again to fab a plate and a grommet I found at the parts store. Seems like I have to do everything twice on this car. :hmmm:

Here's what I came up with to seal off the antenna lead. There were already 2 dimples above and below the hole from the factory. I drilled those for sheet metal screws, made a metal adapter and used an unknown valve cover grommet from the parts store. Sealed it and installed it and got the fender back on.

Starting to look like a Maverick again. Turned out I did pretty good on the fender notch. Looks just like the other side. :thumbs2:

Here's an old pic of the modified Pinto spoiler. It's narrow sort of like the metal ones someone is making.
