    OMG I forgot those :biglaugh:
    Thanks!
Yeah I got them in there, didn't have any Wild Turkey today, maybe that's why my back is hurting so bad, got a bit to do, still gotta pull the old engine out and rob some stuff from it but this rain makes it a pain to do even in the shop, tracking mud in way too much, almost busted my A** when I walked in the shop with my flip flops and the mud, it was slick enough I did the splits pretty well!
And I'm not into gymnastics

First of all: glad to see you wrenching on the Maverick again, Roger!:thumbs2:

Second: I'm sure you did the splits, but I'm having a hard time believing that you did them a) Pretty or b) Well.

When are we going to see stripes????

Well the splits I did depend on the person viewing it, from a clowns point of view I guess it would be pretty as in comically, and from a gymnast point I guess it would have been well for someone who does not do that type of thing!:rofl2:
As soon as I get the engine done and fix what I mess up on the paint, I will get the stripes on it, it will be this month, I have unlimited time to work on it, good thing is I have some cash hidden back also for the (as you know pops up) unexpected things, that is if work doesn't interfere with my fun, I was not scheduled to work tomorrow until I was informed Tues. night I would be working, all fireworks displays have been postponed here due to the weather so I am the entertainment until Saturday night.

It's a shame I don't have video of my "splits" that would be entertaining!

In between the rain and sliding on the muddy floor of my shop, I did manage to do a little more on assembly...........

Set up the geometry and set valve lash also, when it stops raining and I can wash out the shop, I am gonna pull the old engine and rob the parts I need so I can shoehorn this one in.

Engine is in, not bolted in but sitting down on the motor mounts, really weird things going on today, I started this morning prepping the engine bay, got the engine up on the cherry picker and slid it over the engine bay, I then decided before I started to lower it to come in and take a good break so I left it hanging there, after about an hour I returned to the shop ready to drop it in and.....well it was already in there! no kidding, it had dropped right in place just barely missing the motor mounts, holy crap!! best I can figure is I didn't tighten up the valve on the crane enough and it slowly dropped in but geeeze, that was the first thing, second thing weird happening was I took a 2x4 and stuck it to the front of the engine for leverage and pushed, well don't ya know it went right down on the motor mounts AND straight onto the tranny in the right place, never happened before.....ever! I am feeling a bit like I am building a car like Christine! and to top it all off, and this is really strange, I only dropped my 5/8 wrench twice bolting up the trannys top bolts!
Gotta go...going to the store to play the lottery!

Got the valve covers on, still got to do some cleaning up of the engine compartment and touch up a few things, those valve covers make it look bigger in there than the stock ones did, gotta get the breather painted and put on also but that's the small stuff............
