    thanks for your interest! :Handshake
ill try to show all the steps with as much details as possible.
ill post bit by bit, because i dont do it myself and the shop where my car is for the metal work is about 1.5 hours drive from home.
so i just can see it once a week or every second, depending on my time i have.

ill try to show the differences between the mexican and the us mavs as i see whats different from the posts i see on here.
the bumpers are 1 or 2 years behind, but i cant really tell as mine was already converted and i didnt see many mexican mavs from close.
ill keep an eye on that to give you more information...

one big difference is that most of the mexican mavs dont have a heater system installed.
so if someone know or has a complete heater system to sell me i would appreciate it a lot!

depending on when you want to install it, i have one from my parts car.
does your car have the opening in the top of the dash, the holes in the firewall and the dash opening for the heater controls?

    thanks tody thats very kind.

i have the openings on top of the dash, the cowl vent, the hole in the firewall for the motor and the opening for the controls. its even open and has the text for the controls, just no controls in it...

is it in germany? i should check first about shipping and taxing cost, it might be cheaper to find one over here or in the states.
but if i cant find one at all ill come back to you. thanks for your offer

also im checking if a mustang heater system would fit a maverick.
these are available new and used here.
anyone tried to make this swap??

and when you mention your parts car:
what should i look after when i would buy a parts car? what parts does it have to bring and what can be missing?
a roller with all parts, or a rusted out old ****?

because if i might buy a parts car that brings more parts than my own car i might be tempted to throw my car as far as i can and use the parts car for restoration... :rofl2: :Blasting:

thanks, nice to see more details.

not all of the mexican mavs have the 220kmh tacho, but most.
so if someone interested in one i might organize you one.

    transmission: 4-speed Hurst

Interesting possibility, but I imagine that shipping even to me in Sonora, Mx. would be "muy carro".

I will be following your build with interest.

the transmission might bring big euros over here. you might consider keeping it and bringing it with the car in the trunk. what's the code on the transmission tag?

the heater box i have is in germany. it's complete, and i'm sure we could sneak it to switzerland through customs. you would only need the cables running from the shifter controls to the heater box, i don't have those.
i guess it would be easy to leave out the heater box now and install one later when back home. can you take a picture of your dash, just to make sure the heater box will fit?

ill put an 8.8 in as well. 3.73 posi from an explorer...

yes its a Ford toploader with Hurst shifter.
the numbers are difficult to read, ill have to clean it a bit better and take more fotos.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Toploader_transmission

    good info to the toploader:
    http://www.hemmings.com/mus/stories/2008/10/01/hmn_feature22.html

but it says there where mexican 3speed lookalike toploaders.
so is mine a real or not?
need to check these ID numbers...

I have to agree with Tody that the 4-speed would be worth shipping back with your Maverick. Here in Mexico when they can be found they are worth the $3-400.00. In the U.S. you can pick one up for about $600.00 unless you are in a hurry and then it will cost you $800.00 or more. I would have to believe that in Europe that price would be more around $1,300.00

Yes, I live in Magdalena de Kino, Sonora, Mx.

How long is your stay in Mexico?

Keep us posted on the build.
