Well there was a incident over the weekend which ended up damaging my car pretty good (painted it like a month ago) I painted with bc cc uthrathane paint, the shops here are only allowed to use waterborne paints. So will they be able to paint over my urathane or have to take it down? Will the black match up the same? (Code 99) hood/fender are damaged, roof is the worst.. Just tryin to figure this out because it goes in Friday morning to evaluate the damage and I don't want a car that is 2 different blacks or paint starts to peel in 6months.
I just converted my shop to PPG Waterborne a few months ago. We put waterborne on everything we spray now. You won't have any problems putting it over the urethane. It's not aggressive at all.
Well thanks guys, yes it is a shop that will be doin it. I got to choose which shop I wanted and I picked the absolutely best resto shop around here. This info was just for me due to the fact I don't know about it and had me a little worried.
Absolutely correct. PPG's is a latex based product. Some other brands are a converted solvent and aren't as forgiving. That being said, as long as your urethane paint is cured there will be no problems.
