Well, it looks like "No Stripes" for my "75" "Police Interceptor" based on the poll result, :tiphat: no problem...she looks good the way she is.

I was all set (money set aside) to begin buying some "Top End" performance parts for the 302... but then just today a friend of mine asked me if I would be interested in a car a family member wants to sale .

We drove down and took a look at it :thumbs2:.

Looks like I'll be bringing home a 1971 Ford Galaxie 500 to begin work on :Handshake.

So, the "Interceptor" will have to stay "As Is" :) for the time being.

I know this is a Maveric/Comet Forum, but once I get the Galaxie home I just may post a few pics (y).

:hmmm: Seems to me not posting pictures isn't an option! I believe we will be needing to see the car once you get it.

The car has the 351, not sure at this time if it is the "W" (Windsor) or "C" (Cleveland). Automatic, Two Door, Vinyl Top....actually she looked great with one bad spot at the drivers rear quarter panel. Been sitting for some time (covered) and will need air in the tires, new battery and a good cleaning. I'm hoping to get her this weekend and see what I got. I had a 1964 Ford Galaxie "Z" code which meant it had the 390. Car was a blast. Only problem it was a "4 door" which didn't bother me but would have been nice if it was a 2 door. Anyway, if I get her this weekend, pics will be posted.......Hey; "What do you all think about putting stripes on the Galaxie....LOL"!

    New "Ford" toy

Well, I picked up the "71" Galaxie 500 yesterday (8/24/13). After pulling the cover off (garage where it sat) obviously we found the battery dead . We put on a "Power Pack" jumper but the starter just clicked, solenoid - who knows . We then decided to push her out and put her on some "tow dollies"...well...every wheel turned except for the front passenger . Remember this thing was parked (driven) into the garage 12 years ago . So after some crawling underneath, a little "hammering"...the wheel stayed stuck . Now I didn't bring enough tools to remove the wheel and see the problem, plus remember the seller "sold" the car, didn't really want me dong mechanical work...just get the car out :Handshake. So, here comes the flat bed :drive:. After getting her home (storage garage area), I immediately began by getting the interior clean...it was "coated" with a dusting of "mold" :16suspect. She still has the "plastic seat covers" on. Well, the front cover came off the rear remain and a good cleaning took place. End of that day. Today; 8/25/13 going to see if she will crank over - new battery and lets see what happen . Just wanted to give an update. P.S. Oil change sticker on the window showed next oil change suggested @ 56,000 miles...there's 54,000 miles on the odometer....pulled the dipstick and the oil looked clean :thumbs2:. Remember, this was a "One Owner", "Parked for 12 Years (covered-garaged)" Ford Galaxie 500, my opinion...worth the work (y).
