My 72 Comet Build.....

Looks like the POR15 does a really good job and looks decent.I bought some recently to do the underside of my car,but the mosquitoes are really bad right now so I`m going to wait a little bit and get it done before it gets cold.

 

Today I made a Metco 65 Mustang driveshaft loop fit the Comet..... I had to cut the mounting ears off, trim some off them and weld them back on..... After that I removed the 3 brake line mounting tabs from the left side of the trans tunnel, also removed the e-brake pivot bracket(I have a couple holes to repair from the e-brake bracket, it was a real bitch to remove)..... Then I started cleaning up the lower floor pan from the middle of the tunnel to the pass side rocker.....

Looking good, I'd forgotten how clean the Comet/Maverick can look underneath.................since mine was been mod'd back in 1979 I don't get to see the underneath of a fairly stock car.

Today I got the floor pan completely down to bare metal between the firewall seam and the seam just in front of the rear seat..... I also added stand offs for the inner seat belt mounts and crotch strap mounts in both sides..... Then I applied some Eastwood internal frame paint in the front subframes and trans crossmember reinforcement..... I put some seam sealer where needed on the underside and painted the floor inside the car from the lower firewall seam back.....

Here's the floor pan cleaned up top and bottom.....






Here's the inner seat belt standoff and crotch strap mount(this mount is plug welded through to the end of the front subframe).....





and here's the inner floor painted.....

I was finally able to get back to the shop today and get something done, last week I woke up sick on Friday morning and it trashed my whole weekend..... Today I painted the center underside of the floor pan, and also painted the center section of the roll cage.....

Here's the what it looks like.....

 

I like the hammer tone on the roll cage and the underneath looks very sano!

 

I have to say, man that's a lot of work, laying on you back under your car...it looks awesome!

I also like it because there is virtually no mess when applied with a brush and no brush marks show due to the finish.....

 

Frank, what is the brand name of the product and where did you pick it up - something I'm very interested in doing to my cage also
