John, your probably right, too good for a DD but i'm dumb enough to put em on there, at least for the warm months. Winter time i'll run the trash thats on her now. Those wheels and some skins for em, rechroming on bumpers and other small parts, stripes and then i will almost be done with it.

I haven't washed it since it was wet sanded and buffed 3 months ago, it's due for oil change, that color looks clean even when it's dirty lol.

 

There was someone on here with a silver ( brizilian type stripe ) i think, that i really really liked, flat black. OR --- check this, i found a way thats real -real easy to goast that same color, it comes out very light but a shade darker. Not sure on it yet, to damn busy running the heck outta it.

 

My wife gets so mad at me, she'll send me to the store which is like a whole 5 blocks from the house, i will come back 2 hours later and tell her i need more cash to get what she wanted cause i done spent what she gave me on gas.

2011-12 BMW E92 M3, out of the hole ----- mid door to M3 front bumper, M3 shifts ( mili sec later ) Mav shifts -----by end of 2nd (run out) M3 front bumper sees Mav rear bumper, shift 3rd i think M3 quit----- mid 3rd > 5 lengths.

Twice , I think the 2nd time he justed wanted to make sure what had just happened, really happened. Yep, no fluke.

Looked up price on the M3, $60,100 , compared to $9,000 Maverick, of which $4,000 is in motor.

They say that car has 414 bhp, i'll know soon, i know for sure where 412 rwhp is at and cant wait to see what gives there.

 

3rd gear pull vs 2012 Shelby GT 500 w/ET drags on rear, Shelby walked right on by, Mav needs a SC before i play with that crowd again.

Same pull vs 2012 Mustang 5.0, Mav walks, clearly more power. So by those two cars and 2 honest pulls i can guess that the Mavs motor has over 412hp but nowhere near 550 hp that the Shelby has. Next stop, find dyno.

I now know %1000 for sure that i have built the baddest Maverick in the world, and yet i totally screwed up, lemme explain.

So theres this Festival going on in my town, i decided to park the Mav out on the street to show it off a little, see what the passers by thought of it. I sit out of sight and just listen for a comment as people walk by. I've been so proud all week long and started to realize , even though i know it's not perfect, that car is bad ass sittin still. Hey i was pretty happy at all the comments it was getting.

But then it happined, yesterday a family was walking towards the Mav and was led by what i think could only have been a 3 year old boy. I was going to take it for a drive and was getting in when i noticed this kid walking like 10 feet in front of mom and pops, eyes not comming off the Mav at all, glued. I watched him as i opened up the drivers door. He heard the click of the latch when i pushed the handle button, looked up at me and said thats a nice car, i replied "thanks lil man". ( man i'm a d-bag ).

I get in, start it, look over and the kid is still walking but is really glued on the car now, he walks all the way to his parents car but didn't get in. I was warming the car up and had a buddy standing there egging me on to give it a little hell. Wife comes out, gets in and i took off, as i fired down on it, i kept my eyes on that 3 year old, he was still starring and refusing to get in his car.

Now what i should have done ( if i wasn't such a d-bag ) is shut the damn car off, and go over to that kid and introduce myself to him and his family, probably would have made a friend for the rest of my natural life.

All the comments i heard all week on the car pale in comparrison to the look that boy had on his face. That kids look told me that i had accomplished what i set out to do. I'm sticking around the house tomorrow with the car parked in the same exact spot in hopes that he and his family go to the festival and walk back by. Fingers crossed.
