I found these last night. Looks like a pretty good deal. What is everyone's experience with these heads? Here is my setup:

    Holley 4160
    RPM Performer

    Eagle 347 Stroker Kit
-Keith Black hypereutectic -6.5cc flat top
    ring size: 1/16" 1/16" 3/16"
    pin height: 1.090"

    Comp Cams Magnum 280H
    Headers

Think these will be a good match for my setup? I know they will be 100% better than my iron heads. $1200 for a set of these. (Free Shipping) If I can get fairly good results from these, I don't see the point in spending $600 more for AFR's. I won't be doing hardcore every weekend racing. Mainly just street and car shows.

How is the valve train components they use in these? I was looking at Edelbrock E-streets, but seen a lot of reviews where they are using cheap components that fail often.

Also, up to what valve sizes will I be able to use for those piston heads I have listed? Those Twisted Wedges have:

Intake Valve Diameter (in): 2.020 in.

Exhaust Valve Diameter (in): 1.600 in.

I know those Twisted Wedges are supposed to be better than others on bigger valve clearances since they are "twisted".

Thanks for the help in advance.

Love mine... I've had them since '99 on a 5.0 T-Bird and they're now on the 331 I'll be running if I ever get the engine back in the car... I did upgrade the springs for .600 lift after a buddy broke one but he was running more (.565)than the reccomended lift of .540, I never had any issues ...

A lot of guys will probably jump in here saying they only have a 170cc intake runner but that's because the valve is rotated toward the intake port, thus has a shorter distance from the intake... Back when they were introduced some engine builders were actually saying they were too large for a 302 & really needed to be used on a 351...

As far as HP, yeah the AFR will probably out pull them but unless you have extra cash you need to get rid of I can't see paying the difference either...

Okay, yeah. That's what I was thinking too. I don't need $600 more worth of flow for what I want them for. The lift on that 280h is only .512. So, I should be okay on that.

Do you think the PTV clearance will be an issue with the pistons I have and the valves in those heads?

I love my twisted wedge heads I have the cnc 185's. With TW heads you can run up to a .560 lift cam depending on the duration with flat tops without valve reliefs. And I'll be buying a set of their 205's when I build my 351.

I could get a set of the E-Streets for $950. I've just read too many reviews of spring and guide failure within the first few thousand miles. I'd rather spend a few hundred more and know they will be good to go.

I've come to realize, the only good thing that Edlebrock actually makes, is intakes...

Well, the Performer RPM intake I previously had on the 302 worked really well. I am going to use it on this 347 build and see how it does.

Thanks for the info. If I'm ever back up in the Maryland area, I would love to see that car.
