Saw a brown 4 door big bumper Mav cruising the other way in Largo, FL. It looked really clean except for a mangled piece of trim on one door. Driven by a woman who looked to be about 70. Half-thought about turning around to say Hi. Work has me jumpin' lately ... if it was a slow day, I wouldn't have hesitated. I did end up regretting not taking a few minutes to get a closer look and make contact.
The pics are from the same upholstry shop that did my seats. Not sure if they redid those seats in this one or not. Looks like they made the door panels. edit: she said they only did the seats.
That is the FIRST Grey-Gold interior that I saw that I liked ... and my 72 Comet came with one! For some reason, it works really well with that exterior color. (not so much for mine ...) That seat looks original. Those door panels have been redone, really well. Not the factory pattern, but it has the right "flavor", and would pass with those that don't know these cars well.
I saw a 71 maverick across the street from my daughters school yesterday I talked to the guy for a minute he said hes tired of people asking if its for sale so he said he finally decided hell sell it and hes even got a ping pong paddle that says yes and has $7500 obo on it. its original in decent shape but NOWHERE NEAR $7500 NICE i WOULDNT EVEN PAY $2500. I could see someone paying $1500 for it since its registered and has a inline 6 in it
Spotted a 69.5 Maverick today, stopped and got info and pics, Gene the owner said he has only had it about 3 months and wants it to be original, I told him about the forum and invited him in, it has very nice LDO seats in it and well I would rather wait on Gene to come in here so he can tell you about it and his plans for it.............
Saw this today, while out doing a service call.....A very strange sight to see, especially this time of year... There was a car close to this, or maybe the same car, and the owner was a member here a few years back, but I've never seen him since...
