the summer heat is finally gone in phoenix. So today I dusted off the maverick and charged the battery and took it for a drive.

A large time was had by me. :chirp:

It's The part that sticks out the end of the cam into the cam gear for the timing set that your cam bolt is threaded into and torqued. I'd post a pic but I'm only on my phone (basically broke flush off with the end of the cam)Atleast the threads run inside the cam a bit, threaded the bolt in a few and pulled the cam right out.

    Sounds like...

The front snout that supports the cam gear broke flush to the front cam bearing journal. The bolt extends through the front snout and into the center of the front bearing journal. So, he had threads left in the front journal to thread the bolt in.

Dropped off the block and other major parts to the machine shop today. Getting an early start on the rebuild for the convertible. Spring will be here before we know it!

Both, current 200 is out of a 69 1/2 and been rebuilt 4 times over the past 30 years. It's tired, way tired, its hemorrhaging every fluid in it. Im rebuilding a 75 250 that will feel so much better in there. Would love to drop a 302 in it but I have to use what I have right now.

Are you talking about the dowel pin that was sheared off.............the pin that goes in the cam journal and slips in the hole in the timing gear?
Have you or are you going to take the heads off?
