Thanks for the great comments. After being in paint jail for this amount of time I can't wait till the color flies. The parts get primered tomorrow. It will be nice to see things like the hood and valance in one color.

Here are some final fit pictures of the spoiler and a couple of the back end showing the panel modifications for the 69 Camaro tail lights. A section of the tail panel from a 69 Camaro was welded in so there was the proper lip that would run around the tail lights. The brackets to install the tail light were also modified and welded in as part of the tail panel so the lights are properly installed just like they were factory.

What you're doing is really cool and unique. You'll end up with something that no one else has. I love the '69 Camaro (it's the only Camaro I like), and that's a cool way to pay tribute to it while building a really nice Maverick at the same time.

I seen them on a friends car and thought they would look good on a maverick. I decided to install them thinking it would be the first of it's kind. Good minds must think a like because I know of two that have them and there is another one supposedly in the works. I think I am the only one that welded in the tail panel section and not just cut holes in the existing tail panel. I know no one else has used the original 69 Camaro mounting brackets to install the lights.

Thanks for the great comments. I to wish that I had a 69 Camaro. I love them but there are quit a few around and not as unique as a maverick.

Very nice work, can't wait to see it in paint.
You should have a very cool car when you get done.
It's been along time since I had my 68 Z28, but really loved the car mainly because of the one piece door glass over the wing window 67's.

Yeah, I'd love to have one, but they are a lot more common than Mavericks, and a lot more expensive.

Can't attest to the amount of regular 67/68/69 Camaros were produced, but spent time with Jerry MacNeish while restoring my 68Z28 w/factory plenum air cleaner and headers............the car is now in Sweden.

    Production of Z28 Camaros
    1967 - 602
    1968 - 7,199
    1969 - 20,302
    1970 - 8,733

Yeah, that's just Z/28s. You see '69 Camaros in every car magazine, at every car show & cruise night. They are very common (as are Mustangs).
I like 'em, but it's nice to drive something that isn't seen as often (assuming it's a nice car).

After I switched from Chevy's to Fords, (when drag racing) we used to say..............and still do, that Chevy's are like "Belly Buttons", everyone has one.....................kind of like going to a Good Guys hot rod venue and walking down the rows and rows of 1932 Fords..............only a handful of these are real................the rest are mostly plastic.
