My 72 Comet Build.....

It is definitely a little darker, but it wasn't all the way dry yet and the usually lighten after drying for a few days..... Plus I used a little compound on a small area and the original paint darkens up a little..... I think once it's all said it done it will be pretty close, atleast close enough for crappy old original paint.....

 

Worse comes to worse, paint it the new color from the body line down...it'll be like a reverse fade. It looks pretty close.

 

I wish I had as good of "crappy old original paint" as you do.......mines a 20' footer.
I actually like the color on your car, reminds me of my first car that had about same paint...........some 50 years ago.

 

Got upper shock mounts, rubber axle stops and such all cleaned up and painted if necessary this week..... I installed the upper shock mounts and axle stops in the car this morning..... After that I got the leaf springs out, assembled them and install them in the car..... Next I got the rear end housing down and mocked up the brake caliper brackets/calipers so I can make the brake lines for the rear...... More to come tomorrow.....

Me either, unfortunately that did not happen today..... Also just to let you know I am very happy with the Lizard so far, it did dry nicely.....

 

II swear I am so picky about how things look I am just a pain in my own ass, it causes things to take what seems like is way too long to do..... Anyways, today I made some stainless brake lines for the rear end..... Then I put the housing in the car and got the center section installed in the housing..... I just stuck the axles in the housing before I leaft the shop, they still need the caliper bracket installed to retain them.....

Very nice, looks good enough to be on a show car, just wish I had the patience to do your quality of work.

 

Just so much attention to the small details - it's going to be a real shame to take it out and get it dirty

 

Im interested in those rear springs! I admit, I have'nt read all the post in the thread and probably missed info on them. Are they in the final stage of assembly "in other words" are there any more parts to be added? Don't recall seeing any like that B4.

Everything is there as far as the spring are concerned..... They are Calvert Racing Split Mono Leafs, same guys that make the Cal-tracs.....

 

Racing split mono leaf springs suitable for infrequent street/highway use?

 

I am going to use them for both street and strip..... I put them on a buddy's car over a year ago and they seem to be working fine.....
