Hey guys, Working on the interior of my 72 and I got a replacement part for m package tray. Unfortunately due to the plastic being rather brittle because of all the years of sun damage i broke off a piece of the plastic molding that sits to the right and left of the package tray on top. I don’t know what that part is called. I’m assuming its some sort of rear trim/molding. I attached a picture to illustrate where/what I mean. **note this isn’t my maverick. I don’t have a picture on me right now... My question is what is that part called!!! and where would I be able to locate one. I have tried a few junk yards in my area and the maverick selection is...bare... Thanks guys, -Clay
cant figure out how to upload this image...i will try later if my poor description doesnt do the job.
I'm guessing these are the parts in this thread? There are plastic and metal versions. I repaired my plastic ones as shown, the pins were broke off...
That is the part. Sorry for my poor description. Last night i took the many pieces together and super glued them. I plan on lightly sanding them later and fresh coating them. Where can you get the metal options? That might be a good way to go.... Clay
Someone on here probably has a set as well as keeping your eye on ebay. Pretty common to find but well worth the change. For the price I would just get a good set and waste your time trying to piece part a set together.
my pins were broken I just countersunk the hole with a drill bit and used screws painted black with trim clips underneath
The metal versions are in earlier cars, I believe 1970 model year only. I had pins break on my plastic versions, and I smoothed them from underneath (leaving the upper grainy surface untouched). The I used 2 part epoxy and glued flat head machine screws where the pins used to be. It is not a part that has to be tightened down hard, so this worked well.
