Sound deadening material and amount

I am wanting to sound deaden my Maverick before putting in carpet. I was looking at some stuff on ebay and this is what I see:

There is certainly a whole wide variety of these carpets in there and different types actually and pricing is all over the map.

I'm hoping one of you has done this and can guide me to which one might be best. I am doing a 1978 Mustang King Cobra II so will need it for that if I get too much (that one is a ways off before needing anything though. No AC in the car, so it wouldn't matter I guess on keeping the heat out LOL

Ummmm It looks thin. So I looked and read that thread and also searched ebay again. I don't want any tar smell and have a bunch of spray on carpet adhesive from a VW beetle I had. I'm going to try this and made an offer on it:

Peel and Seal doesn't smell like tar...there's no tar in Peel and Seal.

I already ordered dynomat for my car but Im curious to see how other products work as well

 

My offer wasn't accepted, so I looked at Dynomat and it does look impressive. How many sheets are needed for the Maverick?

 

I used two big boxes of Dynamat on my car, not cheap, but it does what it's suppose to do.

 

Well, I need to measure to see what I'll need. I'm just hoping I get the car back this coming week

 

They have pre cut kits now, it would think a 68 Mustang kit, would be pretty close.

 

I have 68 Mustang brakes I'm gonna wait until I get the car back and then do it after messuring it for square feet. I want to do the doors and even the rear deck.

I used the stuff that looks like old carpet padding on the bottom and silver mylar on top. My friend's wife looked in the car before I installed the carpet and wanted to know why I covered the floor with aluminum foil...

 

There are so many choices and so many different types and costs, gets confusing LOL
