I'd use that car for parts to build a really nice 2-door (but that's just me).

I have a quarter panel and door both with trim if you are interested. They are the same color and year, came from Wenatchee.

Through the years, I was never a big fan of 4 doors but I now see some of them showing up at car shows with the glass deeply tinted, door handles and locks deleted and all de-chromed and they are looking much better now. I think it's because 4 doors are basically what you see anymore on the streets and I guess I just got used to them :tiphat:

I was actually the same way about 2 doors until I did some searching and found some pictures of some real sweet custom 2 doors.

While I'm here, I'll post some ideas I got for the car. I'm looking to hide everything that's not original from '73, so I've decided that my glove box will house quite a bit. I'd like to hide a CD player, 12v cigarette lighter plug, and the smallest aftermarket oil pressure and water temp gauge that I can find. I'd also like to install new shocks soon. As fun as it is to feel like you're out on the open seas while driving, it'll ride nicer (and safer) with good shocks under it.

Does yours not already have one inside the ashtray door? Or are you looking to install another one with a larger amperage? My car does not have one at the moment. Instead, it's a piece of round cardboard covering the hole. The wiring and connector is taped back to the rest of the harness. A blue wire with a red stripe, maybe IIRC.

F.Y.I.: "Original" Mavericks are boring. No need to hide anything. Use it as a platform to make a cool car out of, and make no apologies for it.

Now I feel dumb. There's gum wrappers, receipts, etc in it and I didn't realize there was one in there...

Looks like there's just a spot for one that's covered by a block-off piece

New parts! Hopefully this will be all it takes to cure the charging and battery draw issues it's been having

It's been quite a while since I've gotten on the board here, so I figured I'd update how the Maverick is coming along: it's not! lol I've actually had no issues with it for quite some time, however, I am finally starting to get bored with its stock performance. I won't be able to afford to do much custom work on it until I can afford another daily driver, but I'm keeping an eye out for a mid to late 90's Ford Superduty to replace the Maverick as my main method of transportation. Once I get my hand on one, I'll be able to get serious about making major modifications to the Maverick. I won't go into a whole lot of details yet since it's still a ways off, but I'm thinking real low, real wide stanced pro-touring 4 door Maverick!
