She's all closed in! Waiting on a door for the shed portion and the steel roof sheeting (Ford blue at the wife's insistence) to finish the siding. Got a start on the interior work. Ceiling goes up this weekend, wiring is mostly done, some wall sheeting is done. Hoping to get back to the Mav and cutting the spring towers in the next few weeks. SPark
Well, it's 90% done. Waiting on the electrician to return and finish the light wiring. Can't wait to get back to work on the Maverick. Had to spend some time on the Falcon to make it movable so it and the Mav can share the new room and the '62 can go where the Falcon is currently sitting. Pics don't show it all but the interior walls are done and everything is drywalled or sheeted now. Started moving stuff from the other shop and plan on cars next week some time if the weather cooperates. Later, SPark
Got the Falcon moved yesterday (first time in around 7 years). Ended up putting a custom 43" wide 9" with new Moser big bearing 31 spline axles in it. First thing this morning the Maverick came home with all it's parts. They are finally sitting where I can work on them again. Have to move the '62 unibody pickup Saturday morning than everything is here except a couple work benches, some tools and a few more parts. Another dozen or so loads should do it! Also got started mudding the drywall in the hobby room. it's cold and rainy and mud is drying very slow. It'll get there. Couple days cleaning and moving the uni into this hole. Then clean the whole garage and I can get back to working on projects and not playing carpenter. Later, SPark
Thanks for the comments. Here's the Falcon before I moved it, still had the 460 in it. Here is another of it in it's new home. Rear suspension. Only has coilover simulators on it in these pics to set ride height without messing with springs. SPark
The original 30x40 has heat. The new 22x26 shop area addition doesn't have anything yet. Leaving the 9' door open lets heat get in there just fine so far. We've been around 30*F lately in the mornings and it warms right up in there with the bog door between the 2 shops open. It's all well insulated. The 12x26 hobby room on the very end will probably end up with a split mini heat pump next summer. I plan to use my propane heater to keep that room just warm enough to do finish work on this winter so it can be moved into in the spring. We go from -35 to +110 here. You need heat and air. SPark
The lack of heat is what slows me down a lot this time of year. I have a kerosene heater that I stoke up but you just can't get too far away from it
I look forward to winter, finally cool enough to work on the car...lol... Gotta love Florida this time of year...
That is why I always wait until the fall to make a visit to Disney World - I was there in July "ONCE"
