Got a hold of a 77.....there are many good sheetmetal parts here...going to use the rear quarters and rockers...the yard said it was from Arizona...lots of surgery on the Stallion ahead...hopefully the weather will break...endless winter here in MN.

Man....I know you have a lot of work in the other car, but might be easier to move the Stallion over to THIS body.

the car is bent...otherwise it would be a shame to chop it up...now it gets to be used to help get mine on the road...

Got a 5.0 out of a 87 lx...it had a 5 speed behind it...I thought cool ...I have been looking for one for some time...as it turns out its a 1352-162...a 4 banger trans...I got the whole works very cheap...are there any upgrades that can be done to the trans? it did survive behind the 5.0...I don't build on luck...

you need to change the gears inside to v8 gears. either stock ones or aftermarket ones like gforce or astro gears. the other thing that happens when a 4 cylinder trans is put behind the v8s is that the input shaft is smaller and the pilot bearing doesnt support front of the input shaft. this will cause the front of the out put shaft to get eaten up. it can be repaired by welding and machining it.

Well...after some research it looks like I will have to do some mild bowl work on the GT40 heads...have not selected a cam yet...the 87 5.0 short block looks to be in great condition...got a Holly 600 for a carb...and a Weind intake...will be running long tube headers...:drive:
