8.8 are good rears,OK for automatic trans car,not so good for manual trans, just won`t take the abuse.

get rid of them all and switch to a taurus fan, you will both be extremely happy. it cools my engine no problem, fits amazing and was very little work to get it all mounted in..just needed a little trimming of the plastic (i believe we also have the same rad) and i just picked one up a bit ago to go on my dad's chevelle, thats how much ilike them.
does anybody did a 8.8 rear end swap without doing anything on the rear end?
i want to put 8.8 in the car i got the rear end.
I just went out and picked up an empty 9" banjo that was free and bolted it in. The spring perches were the same, total width was about two inches wider. With the extra width, now I don't have to worry about the body coming down and chewing up the sidewalls of the tires. built a nice posi for it and was done. Good luck.

I have a friend that still runs one in his 5 speed Fox and it's holding up fine. The car is blown and runs deep in the 11's.

Just so you know, having a shiny dash sucks, it reflects in the windshield on a sunny day, and makes it hard to see. The top of mine is too glossy.
