Just a couple of pics of the new seat belts and some more interior trim, not only did the upholsterers cover the rear parcel tray, they also cover the metal surround.
Looks great! I was wondering about covering the plastic side panels and they look sharp. More things to consider spending money on.
Great looking interior! Do the belts work mounted like that? I am getting ready to install a set of retractables and they pretty much have to be perpendicular to the floor with the belt coming out vertically or they will constantly lock up. Also by sharing the lower anchor point with the lap belt coming out from behind the retractable, isn't it chris-crossed when latched? I'm thinking I have to add an anchor point, one for the retractable and one for the end of the belt...
They did a great job covering all those panels. Those rear quarter panels had to be a bear to do, with all the curves etc.
I had to put the retractor on an angle to stop the belt from rubbing on the way out, it was folding over and locking up.the anchor and the retractor were shown to be bolted at the same point in the instructions with the anchor on an angle
Something you might want to consider is installing a belt drop. It makes the angle that the belt crosses the seat much more comfortable. Here is mine below. It came out of a mid-90s Ford passenger van. Even though it is newer piece, it doesn't look out of place.
It is a bit involved. The latch won't fit. You have to attack it from the other end. You take the belt all the way off the reel and then reassemble the whole thing. That means keeping it wound against the spring tension as you put it back together. A challenge, but doable.
Yeah, will have to look into some sort extension there, as the belts are just long enough pulled out.
