So I have been researching the easiest way to get new bumpers and it looks like Andy's auto sport sells small front and rear bumpers, I'm curious if anyone has tried these?
I took a look at their website and it seems they are just a reseller of the Unlimited fiberglass bumpers. Quite a few guys here have fiberglass bumpers painted body color.
All depends on what you want to do with your car. Looks like they are using Shawn Simpson's car, and John Ford's...
Saw that too ............. Like Dave said. If you want chrome you have to get metal ones. If you want it to have body color, you can go fiberglass. Look around in the gallery at different cars and see what you like.
Now these are only the bumpers so I am still going to need the front valence and rear pan? What else?
If I hadn't already aquired a good set of small chrome bumpers, I would have gone the glass route - just don't hit anything with them but I wouldn't want to hit anythng with my stock ones either
Agreed. If yours will be a street driven car, don't get the fiberglass. Fiberglass is for boats and drag cars only.
I think, when done right, the colored bumper looks fantastic. Bear in mind too, the fiberglass bumpers often need finish sanding and fitting before painting.
yep.. couldn't agree more. Some of my favorite 60's and 70's musclecars have color matched trim packages added for more a of a sporty flare. It's also what sets them apart from "regular models".

I've been looking into converting my bumper over as well. Is it worth the investment to buy a good used one and restore it, buy a new one, or just go fiberglass? I'm not partial to the chromed or body painted look so it doesn't matter to me.
For as thin as they are, I'd much rather have metal bumpers on a street car. Even really rough condition bumpers, can be sandblasted, welded, and repaired to look good, if they are going to be painted.
