As seen here in the lower left hand side... what is it? I dont have my car here with me or id go trace it but im really wondering
So I pull it and it will allow fresh air into the HVAC system? rather than recirculating air from inside the car? Honestly never seen it on a car before
As Dave said, not found on cars with A/C. It opens up the cowl vent into the car for outside air to come in. There is a lever that swings on the passenger side to do the same thing. You can see this lever in the picture too.
I olden days cars with A/C usually still had the fresh air vent on the driver side... I know my '67 Falcon did...
Thread Hi-Jack What happens if these (the cables) are rusted in the open position? I ask because mine are frozen, and air blows through them when I don't have the cowl cover on.
With my cowl hood engine heat comes in the fresh air vents as well as the fumes, nice on cold days except the fumes. I discovered this on a hot day not so nice then, we dont have that many hot days in Oregon though at least not on the coast
Damn, y'all beat me to it, I was going to tell him that was the actuator knob for the ultra-rare factory drag shute option.
Olden days to me is pre 1970... I surely know about Mav/Comet, my A/C Comet doesn't have a floor vent...
Man it's easy to tell you guys are from the North, that fresh air vent is a welcome relief down South, keeps the jewels cool.
