1972 Maverick Grabber Resto/Mod for my Dad

How'd it fit? I really like the look of those, I need to order one this spring.

I really love the dash............have you ever thought of making the blank more than once.................and selling them????????

 

Which spoiler are you using?

 

It fit great! Had to do some minor hammer and dolly work on one side but that was because of shipping. It uses the factory hole on the valance so there was no need to drill holes. The paint work on them was so - so. I would recommend sanding or scuffing it down and painting it yourself.

 

The spoiler is made by Spoilers by Randy and it is a pro-touring model. I looked on his website and didn't see the pro-touring model like mine but here is the link to his normal Maverick Spoiler.

The car is going to be amazing, I love the pro-tour chin spoiler too...

 

X2 Even a template would be sweet! Seen a few guys do that style and REALLY like it!

 

Isn't that the chin spoiler that Glenn got developed?

 

That is the chin spoiler Randy did for the Maverick community. The valance Randy used to mock it up was sent by some member on here. The hardest part was to send a straight valance without any body work done to it. Find one of those is hard.

Glenn used a Camaro lower valance and fabricated around it so it would work on his Maverick. I would love to have the one he built. I would pay him dearly for it if ever sold it. I love it that much!!!

 

The valance was donated by Walt, 7D2Grabber. I did some of the body work, then had a friend finish it and shipped it to Randy...............the rest is history.

 

Copy that, I thought it looked just like his.

Now that cats out of the bag, they few of us that having them will start to grow from few to many!

 

After I made my lower valance I got Randy's spoiler for a Camaro. I kept seeing people on here posting about front spoilers so I contacted Randy about making one for a Maverick. He jumped on board, but said he would need a good valance to make one off of. I started a thread here suggesting what could be done if we were able to get one donated to the cause. Thankfully a few people took it from there and here we are now with another fantastic direct mount spoiler that fits our cars.

I guess you could say I started the ball rolling. But there were several people involved with seeing it through.

I wish that rather than making a mustang-style front spoiler, someone would make a small air dam that would bolt under the valance, maybe 1-1/2" . Kind'a like the type that more modern cars have.
