This morning I made a tailpipe and got it on the car..... Then I got the car down on the ground again so I can clean up the shop, I need some room to work once again..... Here's the tail pipe I made on the bench and on the car.....
Today I had to do a major shop cleaning so I had some room to work..... After that I installed the starter and the trans dipstick just to get them out of the way..... Next I did a final fitting on the aluminum panels to seal under factory inner quarters, I fit them and drilled the for rivets..... Last thing today I touched up the thin spots in the paint on the cage..... Here is the aluminum inner quarters with a few rivets holding them in place.....
They are all ready drilled for rivets, you just can't see them in the pictures because the halo bar is hiding them..... They are just enough lower then the bar that I can get rivets in them.....
Today I masked the trunk area and then the whole exterior of the car..... Then I sanded and primed the tail light panel..... I disassembled my tail lights, sanded the housings and primed them..... I also removed the hood from my fathers 86 Mustang, masked, sanded and prepped it(he wanted the center panel on the hood blacked out similar to the GT's)..... I finished prepping everything and painted them old school matte black..... Here is the tail light panel, primed and then painted..... Here is the tail light housing primed and then painted..... and last but not least my fathers hood masked and prepped, then painted and unmasked.....
This morning I went to the shop and remasked around the trunk opening..... Then I sprayed the trunk area with trunk spatter paint..... Here's what it's looking like.....
Went to the shop today, yes on Christmas Day..... I clear coated the trunk spatter paint I applied yesterday and unmasked the back of the car..... Here's a couple pic's.....
The trunk spatter paint is Eastwood rattle can, the clear was urethane shot from a gun..... I always paint the area the base color of the spatter paint first because it doesn't cover the best(makes it look much better).....
Doesn't make it look much better. Makes it look profesional! Looks better than any trunk I ever seen.
