I hope this is not one more time when someone steps up to make something cool and different, and then with all the critics it doesn't get made. We already have spoilers now, why reproduce what is available?

I say go for it. If this doesn't get made I am going to do it myself in steel. I support anything new for our cars.

For me its about the carbon deck lid. The factory id wayyy heavy so I'd like to have it just to save the weight. If this is the way it comes I'll take it. Adjusting the qtr corners wouldnt be that difficult as long as the extensions and the spoiler have the same profile.

Personally, for me the idea of a full carbon fiber deck w/spoiler sounds great, mainly because of the extra height and saving 30/40lbs in weight.
I'm still hoping the cowl hood is in the works for sometime this year and with the addition of the trunk/integrated spoiler.....................I want to have both..................off course my car is a drag only car, but the weight savings are huge for me..........and the look is killer. Great Job!!!!!!!!!!!

As for the circled picture...............for me it looks great the way it is and if
it's too much trouble to make it look perfect...................I'll take it the way it is because your workmanship/quality is "First Cabin" in my book!

Yeah, I've seen the original carbon fiber reproductions. I was talking about making the new, more aggressive spoiler by itself as opposed to only offering it integrated with the trunk lid. I'm happy to see any reproduction parts as well, but I doubt I'm the only one who wants the new spoiler, but not the deck lid.

i want the weight savings of a carbon fiber trunk lid.
the thought that comes to mind is to make a stock carbonfiber trunk lid and then have the carbonfiber add on spoiler and end caps. that way the seam line will line up.

Carbon fiber on out black car's would just look amazing! the weight saving is just a bonus. If i hadn't been spending so much on my car lately i'd be driving down to knott's in the spring without a hood and pick one up in person...too bad im poor right now though lol...hopefully next year...

I like this idea cause then the cost can be broken up AND a non Grabber Maverick can have a carbon deck lid. Not everyone wants a spoiler on the back..

Derrick, this is just my thoughts and obviously you are getting many, and the fact that I can not afford one right now might weigh on your opinion of my thoughts. I think you do some amazing things for our cars and I have seen the quality in person, excellent. Enough ego boosting, I like the one piece decklid/spoiler the way it is. I don't like how the qtr. extension is made. This is what I mean. The way it comes down and meets the qtr. is great if the spoiler did the same but it doesn't. I would like to see the extension follow the spoiler so that the extension would be raised, what about 1/4" or so? Then when I received them I would modify the qtr. to fit to the extension and spoiler. I think a wedge would look too much like an after thought. You would still have a line between the qtr. extension and the qtr. but I think it would be more natural and flow correctly to the eyes.

Add me to this list. Hoping you will make spoilers and end caps again.... soon. I like my steel trunk lid.

I surely know how tough and time consuming it is to make custom parts like these that will satisfy enough folks to justify fab'ing and make selling them worth the effort.. but.. I would have to toss my vote towards individual pieces to cover a broader audience.

Of course it's not worth turning back at this juncture of prototyping that part.. but might be worth a thought or two in the long run.

Also IMO, because of the layout and architecture of this cars rear façade.. different colored end caps may not look the greatest from a distance.. and end up looking like unpainted pieces that break up the bodylines and color flow of the cars rear view.

Of course the guys that want everyone to know that they spent tons of money on carbon fiber would likely not have issue with those broken flow lines since it makes them stand out more.. but there are certainly some that would not care for that effect.. and may even end up painting them to match body color. A "decklid only" option would also make the cars with these CF hoods have a certain amount of continuity from front to rear as only the top panel/view of the car would be blacked out.

Anywho.. it looks nice so far.

I think that's the right idea, it wouldn't take much to cut the corner of the quarter, and make it match the contour of the trunk lid.

This is the same point I was trying to make. But also, he's limiting the number of purchasers by requiring the body work to make it look right. The Maverick Man Mantra no body work required would no longer fit here and frankly for many, its not something easily done. Though a lot of people have mentioned the spoiler would look funny with a steeper slope, I think that would be the lesser of 2 evils here both from a sales viewpoint and as a prospective buyer.

wow a lot went on when i was gone! lol! opinions that is what i get for asking. lol! it is always good to get opinions but i usually don't listen to them. lol!

most of you know i do what i want. lol! in this case the trunk with integrated spoiler will be made no if ands or butts. i have way too much effort into it. for those whom will think it is too much it probably wasn't meant for you anyhow. these trunks are for those who have been wanting it. this is more of a halo item for me. also remember carbon can be painted easily.

the post i hate most are GI (gauging interest)threads. just make it... they don't like it. well that is the designers fault. stop making ugly stuff! lol!

anyhow.... and to end all. i am making the 3 piece bolt on spoiler again. for those who just think that will be better. i planned on it way before i made this. again this is for those whom want something more on the elite end of things.

    see everyone happy!

now leave me alone so i can finish making these things. ;)
